What part is this?

I had a marina winterize my boat and like always they put the drain plug in a plastic bag zip tied to steering wheel.
Today I opened up the boat to get it ready for the season this was in that bag with the drain plug. They’ve never had this part in the bag and it looks like I should get a new one.
This is off a ‘04 22V
What is this and where does it go?

That is the knock sensor that is threaded into the the engine. My '05 22i had that sensor on the starboard side in the engine block under the exhaust manifold. Make sure to find the single wire that connects to that, otherwise the ECU will start beeping at you.

Thank you so much. I put it back in tonight and just did hand tight. Also found that wire you were talking about and plugged it back in.

Another question if ppl are up for it:
where do I find the correct gasket for the impeller? I’ve been getting away with using the one I had as the new impellers don’t come with correct size or hole pattern. I’ve typed it into Google but can’t find one. Jacobson with numbers 50410-1201 stamped on it.
