    Fuel Pickup tube 1999 2200i

I am chasing a low fuel pressure issue on my 99 2200i. I suspect I have an air leak in the gas line coming from the tank but also wanted to check the fuel pick-up tube inside the gas tank. I removed the fitting on top of the tank and there was no tube attached to it. Can anyone comment if there should be a plastic tube with a frit on the end attached to this part? I tried to look into the tank from the hole for the level indicator and it felt like there was a metal pickup tube.

    The part number on the fuel tank was: FMT-36-Tige 36 1 .125 3/99 , P/N F100S

    Thanks,
    Dave

I checked the Anti-siphon valve and it was functioning correctly, it was in the hose barb threaded into the elbow.

I was expecting to find a plastic pick-up tube like the one shown below and planned to inspect the tube for cracking due to ethanol/gas, but nothing was attached. I am wondering if a metal pick-up tube in integrated into the tank or if a plastic tube is supposed to be there and it just fell off.

The reason I suspect an air leak is that after I am noticing the fuel pressure is not steady, it drops below 10psi at the rail and when I inspect the fuel/water separator filter it is only about half full of gas. If I remove the filter and fill it with gas I get back to ~30psi at the fuel rail but after running the boat for 5min and re-inspecting the filter I find the level has drained again.
