‘93 Mercuiser 350 hesitates when given throttle

Twenty five year old 350 has started to hesitate when I give it gas. It is harder than normal to start and if I go on the throttle to fast it will die at low RPM. At high RPM it will hesitate, and seems to run a little rougher than normal. Have never had to feather the throttle slowly before now. Feels like it isn’t getting enough fuel. Maybe accelerater pump would be a good place to start. Rotor and cap also. Any other ideas?

Cap plug and rotor are always cheap and easy and should get done if you haven't IMO. There's a handful of online companies that rebuild your carb if you mail it to them and they send it back. Or pull it off and YouTube it. There may also be a local guy. That's a Carter carb that you have. Possible low circuit jet is plugged up.

      Feels like something is clogged.
Fogged it for first time last year.
Ran it today. Seems to run okay at 3600rpm, but hesitates if I give it more at any rpm.
      Thanks

        It was the accelerator pump.
        Instant acceleration again!
        Thanks. USWaker. chpthril.
        I will still do ignition

Been using the Z1 and friends boats.
I’ll be giving her the love she deserves this next year and a half.
            Thanks again.
