Throttle Tension

Is there a simple way to adjust throttle tension? If I am crusing without my hand on the throttle and hit a roller the throttle will push down on its own.

I thought my dealer said it was as simple as turning an allen wrench in the throttle lever.

I would love to know the answer to this, mine does the same thing. The rougher it gets, the faster she wants to go!
I looked for an adjustment and did not see anything obvious.

I'll crawl into my boat later today. My guess it's a screw inside the neutral button on the throttle. Might have to take the entire throttle off and tighten it if that isn't the one.

Use a U bolt and tighten it on the throttle cable until you get the desired amount of tension.

Not sure about the size you would need but something like this.

Terrible idea IMO to purposefully add drag to the cable. The drag is set with binnacle.

Use a U bolt and tighten it on the throttle cable until you get the desired amount of tension.

Well, majestic doesn't have to worry about that. He doesn't have a throttle cable anyways. It's drive by wire.

Well, it is definitely not where the neutral button is.

You will have to take the panel off and tighten the screws that they have behind that panel. From what I saw, there are two screws that could be the issue.

On another note... The throttle does have wire coming off that unit. I was on the assumption that the entire throttle was "drive by wire" but the initial part is definitely cable going to the helm. From there I am sure it becomes "drive by wire" and follows the wire harness down to the engine area.
