That's why I prefer to use the products I used. I have to redo mine a couple of times a year because of the water we have around here.

I sanded my platform this spring before getting it out. I recommend a good sturdy hand sander (with a handle) and starting with a light 60 grit wet sanding to remove really bad nicks (I had a few), 80 grit wet sanding to level it out, another 100 grit wet sand, then a 150 wet sand. After washing and drying, I applied a teak oil coat with a diaper. I let that dry 24 hours and wet sanded with 150, dried, oiled, 24 hour dry then repeat. After this last coat dried I went to a 320 grit and did this process 2 more times.
A good week and a half, but I love the look.
I wasted about 3 days with a palm orbital sander. Nothing beats elbow grease. There is a guy here that builds platforms for Mastercraft that I had to go get a piece of replacement teak from. He recommends not going finer than 320 grit or you will have 4 year olds slipping off the platform and floating down river, like I did the first day out.

thats an F.A.E. fresh air exhaust they reduce the amount of Carbonmonoxide in the area around the platform to improve surfing conditions and it also makes the boat wisper quiet.

It's amazing you don't notice it over time, until you do a makeover like you did.

    Good work!
