So I dropped the boat off at the dealer on Sat to have it winterized. I wanted to take it out again (it was 82 on Sat), but the wife said she's done for the year.
Anyways, they said they normally leave the plugs out, but will put them back in if I like (which I asked them to do), and they said they don't put in any antifreeze. As long as it's drained, I should be ok, right??

IMO, antifreeze is a little added insurance for those that see -32 temps for extended periods. If the block/drive train is drained well, there should not be any freezing.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I'm with chpthril on thisOriginally posted by chpthril View PostIMO, antifreeze is a little added insurance for those that see -32 temps for extended periods. If the block/drive train is drained well, there should not be any freezing.
Of course, I live in an area where I don't have to winterize (the benefits of an insulated garage). I do drain my block when it is projected to go into the 20s just for good measure, but it's probably overkill.

Wow, that sure seems a lot easier than all this "modified bucket attached to fake a lake" stuff! Worrying about themostat open/closed, etc etc.Originally posted by lee View PostTake the top water hose off of the thermostat housing and slowly pour two gallons of PINK antifreeze into the hose then replace hose.
Thanks.
