The blue plugs usually go into an adapter fitting or some other component.
Many marine stores carry the plugs.
Sierra makes them - part no. 18-4226.
Here's one of many places that carry them ($2.13 ea) - http://www.macombmarineparts.com/cat...ducts_id/12398
Be sure the O-rings seat properly.
We bought our boat used and one of the O-rings was missing.
I don't think the plugs had ever been out, so it was probably like that since day one.
We kept getting a little water in the bilge which stopped after finding the missing O-ring.

My old boat had metal plugs and I accidentally striped out one of the holes and had to get it rethreaded. Also, I think the plastic ones are also a safety measure. They can blow out if needed to help save your engine if it does freeze, unlike the metal ones. That's what I heard anyway.
Thanks, that works for me and makes sense too.

This is where mine is. How do you tell how much fluid should be in there?

Spharis- are you saying to use the dexron III trans oil in this unit?

By the way does anyone know where you can get the blue plugs that go into the side and other places to drain for winterizing? (What are they called also)
Could you use brass pipe plugs for this?

    Thanks

    Thanks
JFive35 it is the back starbaord ski locker in that small cut out. You will see two thumb screws to undo. You will then see the pump and tank.
That is where mine is and I have a 01 2100 V ltd.

Behind starboard rear locker, at least that it where it is on my V drive. It is the middle unit with the clear cover:

I think the motor hes referring to is the pump motor on the TAPS not the boat motor. The TAPS pump assembly on the boats built in the 90's (PRE series) is located at the rear starboard corner, you lift off the rear seat assembly and its sitting behind it on the side of the boat. I've never seen a 21i so cannot tell you where the TAPS on that boat is but suspect that is the location where Spharis was referring to
