cleaning hull while in the slip

My boat has been in a wet slip for a few months now. Any recommendations on how to clean up the hull while the boat is still in the water? I was thinking a long handle brush would take most of it off and then do it every 2-3 outings.

That is what i did. I got a extendable brush for washing cars at walmart and would brush it every other time I went out. About 10-15 min.

I made the kids take a washcloth and scrub two laps around the boat each time we went out. That plus taking it out every week or two to dry it out, quick scrub and spray wax. Stayed pristine till I moved from WA and left it in the Lake of the Ozarks for 1 week. That one week left a near permanent stain.
