    2004 24V oil?

I just purchased a 2004 24V with the 315HP motor. I do not have the owners manual. Can anyone tell me what weight oil do I use in this boat? I am getting it ready for winter and want to change the oil before putting away for the winter. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

What engine do you have? I have a 2004 22v with the Marine Power 5.7L 335hp, and I run 15w-40.

The engin cowl is missing but I was told it is a 5.7 315HP motor, not sure on the manufacturer. My local marine sales shop is telling me I should use 20W50, 5 quarts.

If it is the Merc engine use:

Oil 25W40 Quicksilver Marine Capacity 5.5qts

Whats your climate, the thicker the oil the less it flows properly in a colder area.

Climate is important. Up here we leave our oil in and change in the spring. The oil gets condensation in it over the winter and come spring it can get milky if not changed. Unless you plan on dumping it again before you use it.
