So wife and I bought a 2013 Z3 late last year. The two panels inside the rear lockers were broken. I was finally able to get around to fixing them. Ended up making new panels out of 1/2” plywood, sealing with poly, and rewrap with new vinyl. Added the mesh netting too just to make it look factory. I think they returned out pretty nice.
this was my first time doing anything upholstery related, and it wasn’t really hard. I followed tips from Sailrite’s YouTube video on covering boat panels. If anyone is thinking of doing the same, it’s worth the time. Only a couple hundred dollars for all materials and a new staple gun.
