Boat ran fine but the following weekend it would crank but not start. Others on the facebook forum suggest fuel pump issues. I can hear what sounds like the fuel system priming followed by a knocking sound when the key is turned on but not started.
Here are the things I checked and replaced this weekend, but it still does not start. I have a Marine Power 5.7L engine.
1. My boat does not have a kill switch.
2. Boat is in neutral.
3. Checked battery voltage is good and terminal clamps are tight.
4. Checked fuses under the helm.
5. Checked fuses in box right above distributor cap.
6. Replaced filter in G-Force fuel pump.
7. Replaced low pressure fuel pump.
Any advice on what to do next? I may replace the pump inside the G-Force assembly. Or replace the distributor cap and rotor.
