    lubricating steering cables

    Hello fellow Tige Owners,

Hope everyones summer is going great and everyones getting plenty of time on the water, I know I am!!

I have a question for anyone who might have an answer, I noticed that my steering is getting a little tight, has anyone ever lubricated the steering in there boat themselves? How hard or easy is it and what does it entail?
    Its a 2005 22i

I would think it would only be a temporary fix and you would never get back to where it would be effortless like it was when it was new. I took a look at mine when it was going out and I didnt see any effective way to get a lubricant down the cable. Besides the overall cost of purchasing the cable, replacing it on the 22i is super easy and only takes about 2 hours. Ther is a thread on here somewhere for a 22i, I think?

If you do a search on this topic I think you'll find a few threads that talk about injecting anti freeze in the cable. Never tried it myself.
