    Velvet Drive Transmission

What is the proper way to change transmission fuild on my 1998 2200I with a 350 Mag.Also how much will it take? The crappy book that came from the factory said to run the engine @ 1500 RPM for 2 mins immediately prior to checking level.I need a ballpark figure to start with.

There's a sticky post in the Maintenance Forum (I think it's the Technical one) that's got a link to a really good site with Mercruiser info. Basically, you type in your serial number and it tells you everything you ever wanted to know about your engine (and transmission).

I know if you put too much fluid in your tranny that you will stay in forward. I thought mine was going bad b/c all I had was forward and reverse no neutral and it was because I had too much fluid in it.
