    Taking on water in bilge

I have a 99 2100i Rider's Edition with no ballast system, direct drive. The boat takes on water in the bilge area- nothing extreme, but with a full day on the lake, the bilge will come on automatically at some point.

Is this normal? I heard that maybe I need to replace a drive shaft seal? Check for engine leaks?

    Thanks,
    Matt

Yeah with the boat in the water give the engine a once over and see if any hoses are loose or leaking.

But most likely your packing nut on the drive shaft needs to be adjusted.

Thanks for the help. Does anyone know what size the drive shaft is on that model for purchasing the wax strips?

I am sure dogbert knows the exact size but I am thinking about 1 2/8? Not exactly sure but again, dogbert would know.

1 2/8? How close in size is that to 1 1/4?
