    Installed the FAE today!

The FAE showed up and I got it in service today. A coupe hours to install it, then took the boat out on the water. The noise suppression is very nice (not to mention the lower fume levels). I notice a pretty small arc of spray coming off the back of the boat which I assume is from where the downpipe is hitting water. Not a problem, but I was curious if others have noticed this or if maybe i need to adjust the height of the unit.

You can adjust this by changing the down angle of the down pipe

Like Dog said, adjust the angle. I took a paint pen and put an index mark on pipe and the connector hose. This gives you the starting place in case you need to back the other direction. It wont take much, so move the pipe in 1/4" increments (@ the dots) and test again. If it gets better, try another 1/4", if it gets worse, move back the other way 1/4 past the original spot.

I installed mine last week also, and had the same spray. I tried adjusting it a couple times and the spray remains. I looked at the FAE website and it look like I have mine angled too far back. Most are angled almost straight down or less than a half inch from vertical.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

I have the same issue on mine. I've been able to reduce the spray with the TAPS.

I can't angle mine downspout down any farther because it will hit the TAPS plate. I think the tubes extending from the boat may have been just a little short on my FAE. I sent some pics to Larry, and he said he would probably make them a little longer for the 24V in the future.

For those with an FAE, is there a more pronounced effect on a surf wave?

We noticed no adverse effects at all. Only a little more rooster tail a cruising speed, but who cares. I had a little spray, but was able to reduce it by simply adjusting the down spout towards the TAPS plate. Ended up with about a 1/4" gap at the closest point.

FAE should be every boat owners first upgrade.
                  My TAPS goes to eleven!

The noise supression alone is worth it. Don't get me wrong, a V8 with open headers sounds wonderful to me, but hearing the music over the engine is so much better. My wife even said the FAE was money well spent.

I figures the FAE was just over $400, another two amps would have been double that. Same outcome, you can hear tunes while sitting at the back of the boat while pulling.
