Oil change on a 1997 Pre 2150 MCM Scorpion 315

I need to change the oil and filter on my above boat, I am sure there is a thread but can't find it can someone point me to it.

As the boat is in Bahrain (Middle east) the ambient temp is fairly high any advice on the type of oil to use?

    Thanks
    Richard

Straight 40W is probably recommended by the manf. That's what I would run.

I use straight 40W as well. Here is a chart to show the different oils, that Merc. recommends, and their temperature levels.

Cant go wrong with 40W, just make sure use marine grade.

Capacity is going to be in the neighborhood of 4.5-5 quarts. You should have a drain tube you can run through the center bilge drain hole. Let it drain overnight, change the filter, then fill it back up.
