22i Engine runs rough, loss of power and stalls

We're on vacation and our new 22i ZF trans has developed a noisy driveline, lots of vibration.
    Sounds like a garbage dispozal.

The 340 Marine power engine sputters, looses power and conks out.
    Vibrates bad too.

We have 4 hours on the boat.
Full tank of gas, engine temp normal, oil press normal, elect normal.
We're hoping perhaps someone else has experienced this so we can get back to using the boat.
    Thanks for any kind responses.

We're in the middle of our vacation and trying to save it.

More details on the boat: new or new to you? what trans? hit anything? etc?

I would pull it out of the water and insepct the driveline under the hull. Then I would pull some fluid from the trans and inspect it. Does it have metal shavings in it? Is it yellowish, or extremely low? I would also check the flywheel as best as i could. You say it is sputtering, is that when idling? How does it start up, and does it grind while starting? You migh have some trash on the flywheel. I for sure wouldn't drive it anymore, and I would call the dealer ASAP.

He just got the boat. There was someone else with a similar problem that had the same engine. On the other boat it had an engine code for low voltage.

        Thanks for the tips.
The boat is new, about 4 hours on it.

We'll try again and get an appointment with Tige'.
We just get a voicemail with no call back.

        Appreciate the help.
