Transmission problem

I have a '02 21v Limited

I am getting what appears to be "slippage" from the transmission when going from idle into gear and during the hole shot. I've checked the fluid and it is nice and red and appears to be full.

Should I add more fluid and see if that helps? If so how much? and how do I know when it is too full?

Any ideas on what is causing the problem and how to fix it would be great.

When are you checking the fluid? Are you checking in on the water with the engine warmed up?
