    motor cover failure

So I've just suffered yet another problem with my Tige. On a particularly rough day, the bolts that hold the motor cover down pulled back through the base, causing the gas shocks to pull the motor foeward to start rubbing on my pulley's. I pulled out the cover and stuff, to find the wood where the screws anchor the cover hinges, rotted right out. What are the options to fixing this? If any? Do the screws go right through the fiberglass under the wood, or do they just anchor to the wood? I really hope to not have to replace the entire floor of the boat to fix this. Any ideas?
