Snap out carpet

I would like to Line-x the bow compartments and the rear v-drive compartment floors. Would there be a way to put a drain in the v-drives compartments or is the stringer system under there? The other post about drains in the bow would work just fine

I have thought of that too, hopefully Andrew or someone with structural knowledge will chime in??? I have factory ballast tanks in my v-drive compartments though, so it might not be as big of a benefit for me.

I was thinking of something similar, like light grey Line-x or a gator grip type material. I just worry about how much weight something like line-x/duraliner will add to the boat. The gator grip is probably lighter. The cobalts do have a very clean looking carpet set, so do the chris-crafts, can hardly tell it is removable. Let me know what you decide on.

I don't think it would add that much weight, as I remember a gallon does not weich much more than 10 pounds and I would think 2 gallons tops would cover the main area.

I like the idea of doing the storage compartments as well, fix a lot of my wetness problems.

Lee, you are always a wealth of info, I mean that seriously! Can you confirm what the flooring is like under the carpet and if it is different over the fuel tank (mine is a 2005 24v but if there were different materials on different years please let us know for everyone)? I would just like to know what I am getting into before I start ripping and tearing! Thanks for all the info guys, always appreciated!

Durring Winterization we had it on the trailer and took it out for some cleaning somehow the carpet ended up back on the platform and no one noticed it. So we put the boat back in the water and it sank somewhere near the ramp. That was $300!

The new Epic boat is doing some type of EVA on the floor of the boat. I would like to see how it holds up over time and how it looks at the boat show. Might me a new concept for down the road. I still don't think it will replace carpet.

So in that picture of the hull with the floor in it, is the Penske composite covered wit fiberglass? If that is the case I would love to have the fiberglass finished with nonskid which would work if there is already a layer of glass on the composite. We have lots of boat refinishing places here that would do an awesome job with that.
