I have a 2007 22ve bought it new and this problem has got worse over the years. It first started you would hit a wake and the boat would beep and go into limp mode. Now every once and you hit the throttle and hear the transmission go in but there is no throttle at all. Turn the boat off and back on and it will start to work again. Some times u have to do that a couple of times before the throttle responce. Called the local dealer today and they said its most likely the controler behind the throttle. Any help would be nice. I know it is drive by wire

Been a few years but from what I remember its a little round or possibly square black plastic piece that slides over the back side of the handle somehow. It is going to be on the back side of that panel that holds the throttle. Probably a little larger then a quarter or so. Cant remember how it bolts to the throttle though. Your dealer can most likely tell you if you can't find it or perhaps someone on her with more recent experience can chime in.Originally posted by amcdermott1978 View PostO i pulled off the handlle dont see any couple screws for a sensor hehind the handle..there is a bei sensor towards the top of the handle...my shifter has a big square box behind it

This isn't the one but similar to what your looking for: Guess they call it a TPS also but basically has resistor type setup that sends throttle signal on those boats.

The handle has (at least) two functions: Engage the transmission (which is done mechanically via a cable) and request engine power (which is done electrically via a wiring harness). All you really have to do is find the wires that go to the behind-the-wall portion of your handle assembly, and you'll find the TPS.
If your handle also has the TAPS switch, you'll have (probably) three more wires in that neighborhood. It should be easy to tell them apart.
If you take photos and post them, we might be able to help!

I was able to buy mine separately from a dealer and would think your dealer would have one laying around. Perhaps there is a part number or model stamped on it you can google search for them? Tige factory is always an asset at letting you know who mfgd them also.Originally posted by amcdermott1978 View PostI found the the tps sensor it is a bei...just want to know if you can buy them only

Chris is correct! Here is the spec sheet, based on the part number amcdermott1978 posted earlier. Looks like it's a 5K pot with various rotation options. 9861 is 120 degrees mechanical rotation, 85 degrees electrical rotation, dual elements, six pin connector. Mouser shows 50 in stock, $58.50 each.Originally posted by chrissnow View PostFrom memory mouser sell them
I strongly urge you to go over the spec sheet very carefully, confirming that you are ordering the correct part. Check mounting dimensions, mounting hole styles, etc. Then order with confidence from Mouser, they're a great outfit, I have a box of stuff from them sitting three feet from me right this very minute. Should be a drop-in replacement.Last edited by IDBoating; 04-19-2016, 04:58 PM.
