eng ecu no date over 25 sec??

I have no clue what this means? Out on the water now, please help

Only time i've seen this was when i had the ECU out of my boat and i turned the key on to mess with the stereo. I'm assuming it can't read the ECU correctly for some reason. Might be as simple as a bad connection at one of the big plugs into the computer.

It was just a loose wire going into ecu. Giggled it a bit and the problem went away. While it read the code, lost all electronics. Motor would run fine just no gauges.

I had this issue twice this weekend. I had to unplug the wiring from the ECU several times. Seems like once everything was warmed up my gauges came back. Any ideas? maybe the ECU is going bad?
