The issue that I am trying to correct is when wakeboarding it is very hard to maintain the wakeboard speed I like with the current 3 blade prop, I am hoping that if I switch from the 3 blade prop that originally came on the boat to the correct 4 blade prop for this boat maybe it will help maintain a consistent speed while wakeboarding, my boat has no perfect pass or anything like that and with about 300lbs ballast weight in rear 250lbs in front, with 4 adults and 2 children (700lbs passenger weight) TAPS2 at 8. Will a 4 blade prop be better than the current 3 blade to maintain a more consistent speed while wakeboarding? Any help is greatly appreciated! If a 4 blade prop will fix this problem could you please provide as much information regarding the prop I need including part number if possible. Thank you.

I went to perfect pass and it looks like a perfect pass system is about $1200 to $1300, How hard is this to install by myself?

Cool you are in San Clemente. Thank you for the info. How do you like your new PP. Do you run a 3 blade or a 4 blade? Were you experiencing the same issue I described above. If so what steps did you take to correct? I will check the numbers on my current prop and contact acme for 4 blade replacement? I was told a 4 blade delivers more torque and the 3 blade delivers higher top end speed. I am not concerned with the top end speed I am hoping a 4 blade will help if it delivers more torque. I was in Lake Mead Labor Day weekend and it was fun but not much glass even early in the morning. Everytime I go to Mead its thunderstorm city. We stayed at the Hacienda Casino right above the lake, maybe 1/2 mile away it was ok but every morning I woke up at 5am hoping to see glass but only saw wind, clouds, and rain everyday for the 5 days we were there. I prefer Dragon Lake, Glass every morning until 11am, with only a few other boats on the water early.

I wakeboard at 24mph at 70 feet. I have tried other speeds and rope lengths and this works best for me and my boat with above mentioned ballast and people weight. When wake surfing the boat has no trouble maintaining 14 or 15 mph. The only problem we have is when I make a hard progressive turn back to jump the wake the boat slows down about 2-3 mph reducing my ability to gain speed to attack the wake, can be very frustrating, the only thing that has helped is reducing weight in the boat with above mentioned ballast weight but -3 adults in boat the problem is gone and ofcoarse the wake is a bit smaller. The wake is perfect with above mentioned ballast weight and 4 adults 2 children. Maybe its time to get a WAKESETTER.

                David,

What 3-blade are your currently running? ACME has a couple of awesome 3-blade props that work perfect with the 1:1 drive ration of the Tige DD's. The 653 that TA is using is one of the popular ones. ACME has also released some new props recently, so there may be other good options that I do not have experience with. I would contact ACME and get their input. They will need all your boat info, how much ballast you use for surfing and boarding, how you primarily use the boat and if you lake is at any elevation.

Thanks Mike, I will call acme. I looked for the numbers on the prop and it says tige class 15.

If you've got a 515 in there now and its aint gittn the job done, I would talk to the pro's @ ACME. The 515 is a good prop for the DD's. Its only .5" higher pitch then the 653. Since you are not running a lot of weight, your speed holding might not be prop related.

yes my current prop is the 515 and I only experience the issue when the boat has a lot of weight about 400 in rear ballast, 250-300 in front and 5 adult passengers and 2 children passengers and ofcoarse a full tank of fuel if I reduce the weight by 2 adults and 2 children the problem is gone but at a price now the wake is noticeably smaller. I think the acme 1469 (4 blade) may be the solution!

I spoke with Todd at Acme Marine this morning his solution that he is 100% sure will solve the problem is the 911 prop.

I agree. I did not think a 4-blade was the right ACME choice for a 1:1 drive ration.
