Pre Faria - Hummingbird Depth Finder Question

I have a '98 2100wt, which shipped with a Tige' Hummingbird Depth Finder. The alarm resets to off by default when the key is turned off. To turn it on, you push the button and hold it to scroll through the depth options.

Is there a way to change it to default to the last alarm setting every time the ignition is on? I'd like it to always alarm at 5 or 10'.

When I'm driving, I can manually set it. As soon as someone else drives, it would never realistically be set.

Would this functionality require an upgrade? If so, can the transponder already epoxied to the hull be used?

    Thanks,
    Paul

I don't think you can make that unit do what your asking, it was a cheap, entry level unit. Instead of paying the money to upgrade why not wire the unit to an acc. switch on the dash. This way it will stay "on" until "you" turn it off. You can wire it to a lighted switch or a seperate LED light so it will remind you it is on.
