After pulling my hair out for a week or two, I finally figured out that the boat was getting up to temp 150; then going to 175 then it started running choppy. As it turned out, my thermostat wasn't opening until 165.
(rated at 140) Then engine computer was shutting down the engine to keep from damaging it. I also installed a new impeller, runs like a champ.
