problems keeping the boat running when on the water

hey guys, I just bought a 2000 tige 21i. the first lake day I had I had problems starting it and once I got it started everything was fine. few hours later the boat cut off all together in the middle of going across the lake. got it running again let it idle for about 2 hours with the blower on and was able to finish the day with no problems. the next week we took it out and got it to crank with a battery I had charged up the night before. Once I got to the sand bar I cut everything off for about 2 hours and when I left I had trouble getting it to crank. Once cranked every time I gave it gas it would cut off completely. I had to go about 3 miles and the boat would randomly cut off at idle, half speed, and full speed. when I bought the boat the owner told me it sat in the driveway for about a year and a half. new alternator and good battery that he just bought. its not showing overheating or low voltage on the dash. my fuel gauge isn't working although. and my radio isn't working at all. also under the dash the gauges are leaking water. I had it dropped at my local marina when I bought it and he told me that everything mechanically looked to be in good shape. not sure if anyone has had similar problems with this year model.
