    Boat Accelerates in Choppy Water

Just picked up our 2019 R21. Love it so far, however, the throttle is insanely touchy. I can accelerate with the slightest push from my pinky finger. So much so that when we are in chippy water, the boat accelerates on it’s own with the hard pounding from the waves. Seems odd. Can I tighten the throttle to require more force to accelerate? Thanks in advance!

Yes you can tighten the throttle. I’ll let someone else on here explain how or have your dealer do it at the next service.

Theres two allen head bolts on the backside of the throttle. One adjusts the detent(the click you feel when you find neutral) and the other adjusts the friction(how hard or easy it is to move the throttle). Ive never tried getting behind the panel and adjusting it in place. I always just remove the entire assembly.
