Yep, I said it. Four of 'em. I havent done it yet, but I'm thinking about doing a quad optima yellow top 750 setup. Basically, I'd replace the factory dual battery setup with the 4 optimas- in 2 banks of 2, wired in parallel. So, each bank will be 12 volts @1500 CCA, and when running all 4 with both banks in parallel, it will be 12 volts @3000 CCA.
Having said this, I need to pose a couple of questions-
#1 Will the factory battery switch take that? I'd be running the factory 0-gauge cabling to each battery bank and will be adding short 0-gauge patches to extend the circuits to the additional batteries.
#2 Have any of you had any luck or tried turning the batteries 90 degrees, so that they're sitting in there sideways? I'm probably going to design some sort of billet clamp/mounting hardware and some sort of clear plastic cover to keep it as dry as possible.

Why? Well, I'm running about 1000 watts RMS and somewhere in the 2000 watt range peak. The voltage meter reads over 13.5 volts under power with or without the amps cranking out tons of juice. I have no dimming of lights under heavy bass hits... so again- why? Well, I have on accasion run down a battery when sitting on the trailer, and I'm just getting started with the sound system. Plus, I'm going to add some lighting to the boat at a later date. Also, I'm a gearhead and just like to tinker w/ crap. But, I want to be able to sit in the cove and party with the rest of the folks without having to run my engine all the time.
...and yes, the party cove is unpopulated
