    Question about depth finder

I have a Hummingbird depth finder and it works fine but it is always beeping at me unless I hit the off button, I figured it has something set to beep when the water gets shallow but it does it when i'm in 150+ feet water. Does anyone have any suggestions??

There is a deep alarm too on some models. You can turn it off by going through the menu.

Always beeping? Or when you cross a particular threshold?

I have a depth sounder with two mode settings. X for Shallow. Y for Deep.

If enabled: the alarm will sound if the depth is < X (alert you may hit bottom) or > Y (alert you are dragging anchor and heading out to sea).

If the depth sounder is beeping all the time, maybe X = Y and both modes are enabled.
