    Fuel quanity gauge replacement

The fuel gauge on my 1995 model 2002 fslm comp ski boat has gone bad. It is not the sender. We tested it.

After removing the gauge, I can wiggle the sending unit wire spade connection on the gauge and the needle jumps all around. I installed a new spade connector, and had same problem so it's not the wiring, it's inside the gauge.

I will be buying a new gauge. The question I have is: How do I calibrate an after market gauge (VDO no longer makes this exact one) for my fuel tank? Do I have to buy a new matching sending unit also?

    Thanks for any help,

    Mike

Mine is a 1997 but I replaced my VDO with this Faria. I didn't think about it being any different or having to calibrate anything. It works better than the old one ever did. Can't go too wrong for $18?
