2014 Z3 Accessory Switch bugging out. Accessories flipping off every so often.

    Hey all -

I have 19 hours on my new Z3 and even dating back to the demo, the accessories switch keeps shutting down the boat's gauges, stereo and the like every random so often. We've isolated it to only happening when the boat is underway, but it will even happen on reasonably smooth water. We think it might be due to the actual blue light up button for accessories being defective. I'm really not sure.

Has anyone else seen this issue in any of their boats? I'm pretty sure this switch is universal from the RZ's to the ASR and Z boats....

I'd love to find a way to bypass it so it just runs off the key....any input would be amazing.

    Thank you!

I gotta laugh at this statement, so PLEASE do not take offence. Not laughing at your issues. There is a 20 page thread about so many tige owners wanting to install the button and get the electronics off the key. It would actually be easy to do away with the button, as the 2013 Tiges were, but I would not suggest it. Keep the button and get the root cause fixed.

When the issue occurs, does the LED ring on the switch go out or stay lite?

Yes the blue ring goes out too. I also get a bit of screen flicker every now and then.... I'm a little peaved about my $100k boat is having so many issues right out of the box :/

Wondering if I should have bought a G Boat...

Your dealer should have no trouble tracking it down. Hook a meter to the B+ side of the switch and the tech would know if the switch is losing 12V or if its the switch itself.

Ok that seems easy enough. I'll have them take a gander. Thank you!

I was having the same issue one day. I got underneath the dash and started jiggling wires and traced it to the RCA jack from the medallion to the TT. Pulled one end and the center of the end of the RCA cable was broken off. I had a cable at home and just replaced it with that one, so luckily didn't have any down time. Not sure if yours would be the same issue.

I'll have to check that, mine flickers once and a while and I thought it was normal.

                UPDATE:

The guys at Precision Boats in Idaho Falls, ID took apart the wiring for my 2014 Z3 that was bugging out. They went through the boat and found 5 broken and or lose connections! FIVE!!? Wow... I'm really kind of irritated by this. They took apart my shower pump and replaced it because I guess it was bad too. Mind you this boat has 23 hours on it.

They did get the wiring all put back together and I've been problem free. BUT it seems like Tigé needs to go tour Nautique's Factory and see how it needs to be done. For $110,000 the boat should be perfect.

I don't blame you one bit. When I see problems like yours I'm sick to my stomach for you. I hope it gets sorted out and you have a worry free boat going forward.

That would make me go bannanas. Our first boat was a Regal with a Volvo I/O and we had so many problems out of the gate it was to the point my wife wanted out of boating all together. Switched to a SeaRay with a merc and had 10 years of trouble free fun. So far our Tige has been very good to us and at 240 hrs on a 2012 we definatelyt use it alot and are very pleased. When we switched to an inboard my wife insisted on pcm becasue we have friends with a nautique that never had any problems. That Regal ruined her as far as engines go. If she hears one bad thing aboiut a certain engine that's it she is out.

                    That is total BS.

                      @whiteflash & RZR

Thanks for the support gents. Fingers crossed for the rest of the summer being issue free. I had a freaking Epic with less problems than this thing. Regretting selling my 210 Super Air... sad day

Correct craft makes a damn great boat, but far from perfect.
