2008 22ve is not charging with a brand new alternator.
Details:
—batteries are 2019 and read 12.3 and 12.2. Just took them out of winter storage. Haven’t been charged this year.
—brand new DP electric alternator
—bench test alternator: 15.65V
—purple wire inline 3A fuse is good.
Engine OFF/Key ON
Purple exciter wire: 12.1V
Red wire: 0.3V
isolator: center post: 0.3V, left and right posts: same as battery voltage.
B+ post on alternator: 0.3V
Engine ON/key ON - Idle power
B+ post on alternator: 0.3V
isolator: same results as engine off/key on
questions:
—is there a 50A or 90A fuse somewhere for the starter or alternator I should check? If so, where?
—isolator: could the isolator be bad? Is there a way to test it? If it is bad, do you recommend replacing it or is there an upgrade/alternative?
—isolator there a way to increase engine rpm in neutral? To see if the alternator kicks on with higher rpm?
Other thoughts or suggestions? Or questions?
Cheers.
