0.002 volts at alternator

My batteries died so I suspected a bad alternator in my 2007 22Ve with the 5.7 MP. I changed the alternator but it wasn’t generating any power. I took it out and got it bench tested. Both my old one the new test good. After some research and reading through posts here, I suspect the orange wire in the diagram.

Is there anything else I should test and consider?

Is there a fuse somewhere?

Whats the best way to resolve the issue? Run a new wire?

Check the purple wire to see if it is turning on the alternator.

Has to have a good ground wire connection also.

Thank you Lee! Purple wire is getting just under 12v with ignition on. Zero with it off so I assume that’s good. There’s no orange wire going between starter and alternator but I have a pink/red cable without a connector at the alt going to the starter. I’m wondering if the red wire was combined going to the EFI and ALT instead of adding an additional orange wire? I also wonder if the connect broke off or was purposely cut? I don’t remember seeing an extra connector when I changed the alternator.

The heavy red/pink wire has 12v coming from starter connection.

Seems like on that year, the wire might have gone from the alternator to an isolator mounted on the back of the seat above the v-drive.

That’s correct. The isolator ended up being bad. Even though a mechanic had ruled it out and thought it was the alternator. Thank you Lee!!
