Not a bad price if it competes with the highest level subs like the JL 12W7. Knowing what Wetsounds has produced thus far...I bet it competes very nicely.

It might be worth a trip down to Vegas just to see it.

I have been working on this woofer for a while. You are correct. I see that a lot of the larger systems built for high output all use car audio based woofers. Many with foam surrounds and stamped steel frames. Things that will fail in a marine environment over time. So this is the first truly marine spl woofer. It is the caliber of woofer as the W7 but is full marine. Uses our rubber spider and surround. Powder coated cast frame. Monster gold plated binding posts with coated leads etc...It can play in a small sealed box as well as a ported. So it is a bit easier on the install side as some of the car spl woofers that need larger enclosures.

I had 2 of these in the boat both in slot loaded enclosures, one under the drivers and one under the passenger. But the guys at Hydrotunes in Austin went nuts on it getting it ready for CES and we did 2 sealed reverse mounted under the passenger and kept the slot under the drivers so we could show off the basket and magnet!

As soon as we get back from CES, I will post pics of the install etc...

But I can tell you the system will flex the sides of the boat....a lot!!

Aren't you worried the gelcoat will come off with all that movement. jk Just had to ask anyways.

                      Will that void my warranty?
