head unit?

    head unit?

    since the cmd1 wont do the ipod what head unit would you get. if it fit without cutting a larger hole that would be a plus. what ya got 4me. clarion m475 looks like it might work. anybody have any info on this unit?cmd3,4 or 5 but i think i have to cut the hole for these.

    If it is an XMD1 you won't have to cut a hole for the CMD5. The CMD5 is MP3/iPod/etc. and is only $200 on eBay. I will be upgrading this winter.

      I have the CMD4 in my boat and love it. I installed a CMD5 in a 20V a couple of months back and thought it was cool.

              These will fit in the same hole. You can hook up Ipod to using either the RCA Input on back of unit, or with a Cnet EA1276. Most dont like this because it sees the Ipod as a CD changer.

                Do not forget to consider the new Sony marine products.
                There are two radios that have iPod control built in, and there is no need to purchase an accessory adaptor for that function.

                The Sony radios also can be controlled by multiple wired remotes, and there are two good ones for marine applications, and one has a digital display. Both are rated as submersible, so real fine for transom locations.
                It's not an optical illusion.
                It just looks like one.....
