    Hot Amps

It was 110 at the lake this past weekend and both of my amps got way hot and shut down for a short period. As with most of us, they are mounted in the compartment under the glove box with very little circulation. Any ideas on a fan set up or another way to cool them down?
    Thanks, TD

I have the same problem I just open the door and lift the bow seat up to get some air flow...

Dom posted this as a solution for his hot areas.

If I remember right, this is Doms bilge blower and not for his amps, but I could be wrong.

Here is the page he posted the first picture on.

I know he was using these to reduce the amount of heat in certain areas of his boat. He would be able to comment further but that is what I took from what he posted.

i have a pretty simple set up. I'm using computer brushless fans that pull .13 amps and move 34 cfm. I have one pulling off of my intake for my blower that goes thorugh each compartment. then I have another fan that goes to a vent that I have drilled in each comparment. Granted I have not done all of this yet it's on my list for this weekend. or next one of the two. i'll post pics up for sure. I figured moving that much air in and out will be more then enough, plus when I idle the engine to top the batts off the blower is going to be pulling air through as well. With all that going it should be more then enough. IF NOT i have an AC solution created using my boat cooler, but don't really want to do that one. Time will tell.

I guess having my amps on the drivers side of the closed bow wasn't a bad idea afterall. 116 at Shasta last week and they did just fine! Whew!

Are they 12 volt? Didn't see that in the ad.
