Just buy a new amp and you problems could be solved. Don't forget to rewire and life would be golden.

Problem is we dont think the amp is entirely bad. Its hot and cold it could work all day one day then not work at all the next. So we dont want to drop the money on a new one if this one isnt broken. On our last vacation it started working everytime we turned it on. We noticed that all the noise from the blower and taps came back when it started working. So we thought our ground setup might be effecting our reliability of the amp.

sounds to me like a short or bad wiring. My subs didn't work when I turned them on last night, turned out one nut had come loose on the circuit breaker. Tightened her up and she works like a champ

Then rewire the entire amp. That way you know where the wires are running and you know the wires are good.

that's what I would do, easiest and quickest fix, esp if wires are already there just tap and pull through! cake walk.

why don't you just run new wire out and about and play it for a weekend with wire out to see if that solves it.

New Power and Ground wires to the battery?

yeah just leve the out, maybe tape them to the side out of the way to see if that solves your problem If your not hiding wire it's cake to do.

What guage cuz i dont think the wire in there now says it. If I remember It just says <ft>

um, one amp?
4 gauge would be fine, but if you can buy 0 it never hurts to go big. but it's all about $$ and how are your running it. I alway go overboard, but I build big stuff

Is it that MTX amp? I think those work with 16-gage...


No seriously, what model? I will see if I can assist; maybe 4-gage? replace power and groudn, and please put a fuse on it, right next to the battery.

Its and MTX Thunder 4405 5-channel. Its already got a fuse so Ill probably just use that one?Maybe?
