This is a fantastic add. Any chance of moving over all the stereo threads that have popped up recently? There is a lot of good info in those those posts. If not, the search function will work just fine.

                    Stereo Question

I am installing a whole new system and have a question that some of you might know. I want to keep my stereo powered the way that it normally is off of one of the buttons on my dash. I want to hook my amplifier up directly to the battery for power and then use a relay off of the stereo to turn the amps off and on. My question is this:

Will I run into problems if my stereo is powered off of a different battery than my amplifiers? If yes, are the extra red wires that hook onto the battery in my one battery system most likely the power that is going up to my dash?

Your stereo should have a blue wire on the back of it for a remote amp turn on.

I appreciate the answers guys, but my real question is will I have a problem if my stereo is being powered off of a different battery than my amps?

I had read somewhere on this site, that if you have your amps and stereo hooked up to a different battery, that you will get a buzzing sound in your system -- myth or real? How are your's hooked up Dom, is your stereo and amp connected to the same circuit?
