Wet Sounds New Recon Speaker Series

Wet Sounds has announced their new mid-level speaker line, the Recon Series!

Right now, the Recon 6 6.5" coaxials are in stock. Silver and black iron cross grills = $199.99 and silver RGB are $249.99. At this point, the Recon 6-S and 6-S RBG are replacing the XS-65ic-S and XS-65ic-S RGB.

    New MC-2 all-in-1 compact head

Got to see and demo the MC-2 a few weeks ago at the IBEX. Very nice piece. Smaller screen will make it a better fit on some boats, compared to the larger MC-1. The 2-zone control is perfect so the more mild stereo builds. Shipping now

Have you had the chance to put these side by side with the 65i or the XS-650, now that both have been replaced they can be had cheaper than the new Recon Series. Going to be doing a complete 6.5" replace this spring and want the most bang for the buck. Thanks,

My understanding that that the new Recon series had very little acoustical changes to it, compared to the last 65ic revision. Mainly cosmetic and branding. So the Recon is a good sounding, good performing speaker. However, its not in the same class as the old 650 series. The larger 1" tweeter gives the 650 the volume edge. For those building a high output system, the power handling of the 650 also gives it a leg up on the Recon and 65ic

With the pricing in the retired 650 series, its damn hard to beat that speaker.
