Need Kenwood wired remote for non-marine unit. Possible?

I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X396. Does anyone know what, if any, wired remote will work for this non-marine head unit? I see the KCA-RC35MR has specific units it works for, however I have read through some other internet posts where it worked on other units. Any help would be appreciated.

Does your head unit have a 3.5mm female input designated for steering wheel controls? Does K/W offer a wired marine remote that terminates to a male 3.5MM plug? If so, there is a chance it will work.

It has a blue wire tagged for remote control off the harness. This wire is for the steering wheel controls on a car...or on the marine unit (same owners manual) for the wired marine remote. Not seeing a 3.5 mm female for controls.

Blue remote usually is for the amp remote turn-on. a wire remote usually requires more than one circuit to work. Thats why they use a 3.5mm or a more proprietary connector.

I meant light blue/yellow wire. The remote in question has 4 wire connection. No plug. Red, yellow, blue, green. I think ill just try it...
