As a one time Exile vendor, I initially approached the line with an open mind and was actually extremely optimistic about the future of the product/brand. But then I began to experience issues and recognize conflicts that raised too many questions. So I began looking deeper than the surface and beyond the considerable Exile 'hype' machine at work.
I just happen to be one of those people who does know the difference because I know how products work on the inside and have 35 years of industry experience. And what I found was an incredible amount of deception. The over-stated amplifier power specs are a perfect example. Here is just one example.
Exile at one time had a x800.4 that was a legit 800 watt 4-channel amplifier. It had twin power supplies and 120 amps of fusing. Later, Exile replaced the amplifier with a xi800.4 which maintained the same model designation and 800 watt rating. The new xi800.4 is smaller, weighs less, has half the power supply and half the fusing capacity. And just like the Harpoon, it didn't sound like it met spec as compared to competing products. So we tested it and found it to be a 440 watt RMS amplifier (4x110) @ 2-ohms....and not 800 watts. So we sent all the amplifiers off to a highly respected and independent lab, even though our test equipment is way more than adequate, and the lab's results confirmed our tests.
I don't carelessly make statements without being able to back them up.

There are only a few members on this site that use Exile product and for the most part we have all be pleased with the customer service and product so you really don't have an audience to impress or sway to another product here. 
Whether your technical data and independent testing are true once again doesn't mean a thing to me. I have been happy with the sound quality of the product and quality of construction. I also believe Wetsounds, and Kicker make great products and would be happy to use any of those products in the future but do we all need to be the same? Maybe I should thank Exile for underpowering all their amps because if it was true power everyone riding in or behind my boat would be deaf
