Bluetooth and stereo issues

2017 z3 I just purchased and I can not delete phones or add mine. Just says pairing cancelled. Have read it needs an update so I emailed tige but is there and solution? I tried an aux cord but it sounded absolutely horrendous that we couldn’t even listen to music.

I’m going to make a playlist on a thumb drive and use the head unit to play off of that.
