Hi all,
I'm a 1st time boat owner, bought a 2001 22i Tige' a couple of weeks ago. Loving it.
One irritating quirk, though. I cannot adjust the volume from the driver's console remote or the transom remote when the engine is running. Quite awkward to blast it while idling just so I can hear it when accelerated. Also awkward to keep explaining to everyone why I have to keep asking them to adjust the volume from the head unit in the glove box.
I can still switch from CD to radio, skip songs, etc. Just no volume control.
I asked the previous owner about this and he said it has always been like that. He suggested to try wiring the head unit directly to the battery, bypassing the built-in wiring harness.
Anyone else experienced this, or have any suggestions on how to fix?
Clarion XMD2 CD/radio head unit
Clarion M101RC wired remotes
2 Clarion amps - APA4204, APA2104
Clarion onboard speakers and sub
Kicker tower speakers
Thanks in advance,
Boone
