    Whine with PAC LC-1

    Phil/Mike;

    I'm trying to help troubleshoot an issue for a buddy. All was good until he added a PAC LC-1 to his system. We know it's that as if we switch between cabin or tower the noise moves with the speakers. I've told him to cover the RCA's in plastic loom to help shield and i'm awaiting those results. Can either of you think of another reason for this? He's running Kicker marine amps (MX700.5 & MX350.4) and as far as i can tell everything is setup properly.

    Plastic loom will not shield the RCA's at all. Likely there is a bad ground connection on the LC-1 that is opening the shield that is on the RCA cables. You may also have an RCA cable with a bad ground connection. When you add an LC-1, you usually also add another RCA cable, and it might be bad.

    Try a different LC-1 and also check each RCA cable you use on its own in the hopes you find a bad cable.

    Good luck and keep us posted.
    It's not an optical illusion.
    It just looks like one.....
