I don't see how LSU is #2 and #3 in the polls. After watching them squeek by what I consider a mediocre Auburn team and Miss State, I just can't bring myself to put them higher than #6. I just think that OU, Bama, MO, TX, and Penn State are that much better.
Can't wait for ole Saban to expose LSU.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

Don't worry it will happen sooner or later. Remember of six of the top eight undefeated teams will have to play each other (I think). I would be surprised if there were more than one undefeated team by the end of the season. Oops, that doesn't count BYU (or Utah) which will probably be undefeated but not factored in to the National Championship game. Sorry, Moki, Eks, Kona, Et Al.Originally posted by Tanner View PostI don't see how LSU is #2 and #3 in the polls. Yeah Tech, Texas, and OU all play each other. MO also plays TX. More than likely you will see one of those first three teams playing MO in the Big 12 Championship. So the Big 12 will beat up on itself and eliminate some of their own. OU probably has the best chance of making it through unbeaten, but TX might have something to say about that, and MO and Booger will definately be gunning for OU if they get to play them in the Big 12 championship.
The SEC will also beat up on itself as well. I can see Bama making it through unscaved though.
Penn State definately has a pretty easy road ahead of them. And should remain undefeated.
So hmmm..... 3 undefeated teams possible again? Definately possible.... but probably won't happen. Would be great to see the BCS worm their way out of that one though. But the big 10 would probably left out in the cold due to their conference reputation.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. That is why I think that they needed to institute the plus 1 formula, but the stupid powers that be thought it would take them one step closer to a playoff. Proponents of the current system claim that the entire season is essentially a playoff, and I don't necessarily disagree, but if it is, then finish it off right, by adding the plus 1. If there are three undefeated teams, they all deserve a shot at the title. The plus one would solve that.
Rant over.

I just the think the Pokes haven't been tested yet Dom. They'll be "found out" here soon enough. Their defense is pretty weak.
Basically they are a Tech Clone. Awesome offense, no defense.

One things for sure.... if the national champ. is between a Big 12 and SEC team, those two teams will be battle tested! The question is, will they be able to make it to that game in one piece after such tough schedules. (referring to injuries)Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... This is a crazy time for rankings. At this point, I still don't believe that USC or Florida is not a top ten team. But hey, how do you factor in a loss to Oregon St. and Mississippi? I can't help it if those teams didn't take care of business when they were supposed to. I hope that BYU will get to play a nationallly recognized team (besides Utah) to really see what their made of. If they are at the top of their game, I think that they will fare well. If they're not, they will lose.Originally posted by LovinPowell View PostDon't worry it will happen sooner or later. I am hoping that both BYU and Utah go undefeated when they play each other. This will be the biggest BYU-Utah game rivalry to date with both of them nationally ranked. A lot will be on the line for both teams.
I would love a BYU - USC match up, that would definitely be a good test, because despite the loss to Oregon St. there is no question that USC is one of the nation's best.
I was spoiled when I was attending BYU, if we weren't ranked in the top ten, we were disappointed. For now, I will revel in the current rankings.
I also obviously hate the BCS coming from a non BCS conference and would love to see Utah, Boise and BYU shake things up this year.
