So how long did you hold the button down?

from the time the firework exploded until it started to fade away. Most of the time between 4-6 seconds. I played with different lengths of exposure and found that the entire length of the firework was the best.

Thanks for the info coach. That is a great article. I wish that I had read that before taking my fourth of July fireworks pictures. I have what I thought to be a couple of good fireworks pictures, but now I'm not sure just how good they are. I'll keep trying though.
