I like t-mobiles support, and att's sucks!! they close at 7 or 9, can't remember. t-mobile is 24/7!!

yup the only thing I don't like about t-mobile is they are the last one's on the block to get good phones. I just don't get why the USA division is so slow, where as the European division of them has all the newest phones, INCLUDING the new iphone.

Don't install summerboard, and be VERY careful what you install. Some apps, like summerboard, cause your iphone to become unstable. You don't want a crashing iphone. Summerboard is VERY cool, but don't do it. I finally completely restored my iphone, and then rehacked, and didn't install, and now it is very stable again.

random question.

I'm off to Coasta Rica in Feb and some people I'm going with have the iphone and want to be able to use it. I know it will work there, but does anyone know if they have the prepaid sim cards there?

I think you might be out of luck. All say that there isn't any available and you should get a satellite phone.

Well, go ahead with summerboard, that wasn't the problem. I had some intermittent issues, then I discovered, the issues were worse when I was using or had wifi turned on on my iphone. So I called Apple, they took notes, and would take my iphone for repair. They said they send out a box next day air, and it is quick, since I am no where close to an apple store. I told them I needed my phone. They said for $29 they would send me a loaner phone in the box, that I could use during repairs. If I didn't return it, I would be responsible for $300. I said ok. So I get the loaner phone the NEXT day, and a box to return my phone in for repairs. My new loaner phone, I hacked, and set up the same way, and I had NO problems, so I knew it was the phone. After only 3 days, I get the iphone back, in the box it says they found nothing wrong. I booted it up with my sim card, which was in loaner, and after about 30 minutes, it started acting up again. So I called apple, and gave them great detail on the wifi issue and how to reproduce. They extended my loaner time, had me resend in the iphone. So a few days later I get a box and open in it. They sent me a brand new iphone, complete replacement, and it works perfectly, hacked and all.

Its one of the reasons I love apple, they have done that for me with 2 ipods and a mac book pro. Don't even have to go to any store. This would have all been free if I didn't require the loaner, and $29 flat fee for a iphone loaner was totally reasonable. Not to mention, so easy to back up and restore the phones back and forth with itunes.

Of course, don't worry, I restored each phone to its non-hacked state before sending in.

Also, there is a new version of the apple software on its way out, some great features, but the biggest thing is google maps will actually locate you, like GPS using cell tower triangulation. So you can go into google maps, and you can pinpoint your location, and find businesses and such based on it, and get directions based on your location.

any new info you heard about on the new iphone? I have been looking bet yet to see it. I'm going to pick up the iphone but was waiting a week or two to see if any new releases what not come out or if the price drops again.

I have Google Maps on my Blackberry, it's very cool. Still no replacement for the Tom Tom I got my wife, but definitely usable in a pinch.

WRT customers service, before Palm bought Handspring, I got great service for my Treos. Whenever there was a problem, I got a new phone the next day and just had to send in the old one.

i used my bro's all x-mas break and really liked the iphone. the google maps are great and helped us get around when I left my garmin in the car. with the new gps feature it will be amazing, probably just as good as the garmin. I would venture to say it will be better on foot then the garmin, but not as good as garmin on the highway.
