You should probably switch the xbox to 720p as well

the xbox is now on 1080p

with the hdmi cord hooked up to the xbox it will only go to 720p on the xbox settings but
with the component cords it will go to 1080p

The component should be fine... It can handle it. But the hdmi is a better quality cord
