    Tow Rig Audio Upgrade

    Fellas,

Need some advice on upgrading some audio in the tow rig.

I have a Ram Mega Cab and I've been researching some options.

I know a few buddies who have the JL Stealth boxes, which they told me to look into. I've heard them and they do sound really good.

Here's the for the Mega Cab:

    and to power it:

    Obviously pretty expensive.

Or do I go with a kicker product like:

    and power with:

I know I'm comparing apples to oranges but there's a big price difference. I'm open to all options. Just needs to be a package that can go behind rear seats etc.

I would like to keep my stock 8.4 inch uconnect system too.

For the same money, consider the 2 ohm box. Your 4 ohm box/ kx800.1 match up is far short of your JL box and HD750/1 setup at only 400W. The 2 ohm box would net you 800W rms from the amp. Also note, that Kicker setup is a passive radiator setup as compared to the 2 woofer JL.

Also, what year is your Ram? Kicker also has some vehicle specific components. http://www.kicker.com/vehicle-specific-solutions

      Thanks for chiming in Mike.

It's a 2016. I checked out those vehicle specific Kicker solutions. It looks like they are only for the quad cab and crew cab that have the in the floor storage and in the floor factory sub location.

My factory sub location is on the backseat passenger side inside the mega cab box behind the seats. It's an 8 inch alpine. There is a nice pioneer replacement but I'm looking to have a bigger system that just upgrading the 8 inch.

Got some research to do, for sure.

Thanks for the alternative ohm setup.
