    Verizon iPhone

I have been waiting, like many others, for this release.
I was hoping they would be announcing the new model that would work on the new LTE network.
Now I'm torn on wether to wait some more till the next gen is released.
    Anyone else in this situation?

I would wait another 6 months for the new version. The bad thing about Verizon is that they aren't very flexible with upgrades in the middle of a contract. I waited and waited and finally just went with a droid and I am starting to like my droid more than my company iphone.

I think verizon and Apple waited to way long to release the iphone. My wife has had the droid and now has the droid incredible and I see no reason to make the switch to the iphone. The only reason I don't have on is because I sit in front of a computer all day and really have no reason to need that access on my phone.

Good advice. There still is an issue of waiting it out for the next gen LTE phone?

Wait till June for iPhone 5. Do you want to use it outside the USA? You can't with verizon CDMA. Eventually you will be able to with 4g LTE, but not yet.

Verizon is not exclusive so it should not be long until they carry it, and t-mobil as well.

The iphone 5 probably won't work on sprints 4g network though because sprint uses WiMax, not LTE. But other countries around the world will start using LTE, even AT&T will start rolling out LTE in 2012 in a few cities and nationwide in 2013.

Ok, I was thinking Europe, Asia and the middle east. What part of Mexico? When I was on verizon I couldn't roam or sign up for any world roaming service like I can with AT&T.

I carry an iPhone 3GS in my left pocket(work phone) and a Droid Incredible in my right pocket(my phone) for when I actually make phone calls

Ok Timmy, I post corrected. These are the countries that you can roam in with CDMA (Verizon iPhone). AT&T works in these locations too, and pretty much anywhere else you would want to travel to. One caveat, when LTE rolls out with Verizon and AT&T, it should be on the same frequencies and work with international carriers too, so LTE will be the equalizer.

                              From the Verizon website:
International Roaming CDMA Standard Rates (No Monthly Charge)
                              Voice Rates Coverage
                              $0.69/min
                              Canada
                              Guam
                              Northern Mariana Islands
                              Puerto Rico
